Safe and Fair Play Policy
Keywow is a keyboard and a game at the same time. A keyboard only works if people trust it with what they type. A game only works if the people playing it can trust the result. This policy sets out the rules that protect both.
1. What this policy is
This Safe and Fair Play Policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to the Keywow Android app (package com.keywow.visualkeyboard), to the keyboard itself and to the incremental game layer: the charge meter, the samurai, the bamboo, the keys, the chests, the forge, the weapons and the visual effects.
It applies to everyone who installs or uses Keywow, in every country where the app is available. It applies whether or not you have made a purchase.
If you break a rule in this policy, you break the Terms of Service. The two documents should be read together.
2. Play fair
Keywow rewards you for typing. Progress is meant to come from your own hands and your own time. You must not:
- use modified, repackaged or unofficial builds of the app, or install Keywow from a source other than Google Play;
- use memory editors, save file editors, debuggers, hooking frameworks or any other tool that changes values in the game, such as keys, currency, chests, pity counters or upgrade levels;
- use bots, macros, auto clickers, scripted input, keyboard remappers or any automation that types, taps or opens chests for you;
- simulate typing without a real person typing on the keyboard, including through emulators with scripted input or injected key events;
- change the clock, the date or the time zone of the device to skip a timer, reset a cooldown, replay a daily event or gain any other advantage;
- exploit a bug, a glitch or an unintended interaction to gain keys, currency, chests, items or progression, or to duplicate anything;
- share an account or a device, or create multiple installations, in order to get around a limit, a cooldown, a pity counter or a reward cap;
- interfere with the app, its network traffic or its billing, or attempt to bypass a purchase or an entitlement check;
- help someone else do any of the things listed above.
If you find a bug that gives an unfair advantage, report it to us at contact@keywow.app instead of using it. Reporting a bug is always safe. We will not penalise you for an honest report.
3. Purchases and payments
Purchases in Keywow are handled by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your card number.
You must not:
- make a purchase with a payment method you are not authorised to use;
- buy anything through a Google Play account that does not belong to you;
- request a refund or file a chargeback for content you received and used, in order to keep both the content and the money;
- resell, gift for money, trade or rent virtual items, keys, chests, weapons, cosmetics, subscriptions or accounts to anyone;
- buy or sell accounts, or buy progression from a third party;
- use a stolen, purchased or shared Google Play account to obtain content.
Real money never buys keys or chests. It buys deterministic content only: choice cards, the compass with its minimum rarity guarantee, boosters, forge materials, cosmetics, comfort features and the subscription. Keys are earned by playing. Any offer that claims to sell you keys, chests or progression is not from us.
If you are a minor, ask the adult who pays for the device before making any purchase. Parents and guardians can require approval for every purchase, or block purchases entirely, in the Google Play Store settings. We support that and we encourage you to use it.
4. Chests, odds and transparency
Chests are opened with keys that you earn by playing. Keys are never sold for money.
The in-app Rates screen shows the probability of each rarity with two decimals, before you open a chest. The pity state is shown as well, so you can see where you stand before you spend a key. Published odds are part of our contract with you: we do not change them silently, and if we change them we say so.
What we do not do:
- no fake countdown that restarts when it reaches zero;
- no fake rarity, no invisible weighting, no odds that differ from what the Rates screen shows;
- no pressure to buy, no paywall in front of a mechanic that was free before;
- no keys or chests sold for real money;
- no odds shown only after the purchase.
If you believe the odds you saw did not match the result you received, contact us at contact@keywow.app with the approximate time of the opening. We keep the records needed to check it.
5. Names, content and conduct
Some features let you choose a display name, a skin, a theme or other content that other people may see. When you do, you must not use content that:
- is hateful, racist, antisemitic, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or attacks a person or a group for who they are;
- is sexually explicit, or sexualises minors in any way;
- is graphic, violent, threatening or promotes self harm;
- is illegal, promotes illegal activity, or infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights;
- impersonates another person, a company, our staff or another user;
- is spam, advertising, a scam, a phishing attempt or a chain message;
- contains someone else’s personal data, including their name, address, phone number, email or photo.
We may review, hide or remove content that breaks these rules. We may also reset a name that breaks them.
6. Privacy and respect for other people
Keywow is a keyboard. People type private things on keyboards. Respect that.
You must not:
- collect, store, publish or share another person’s messages, keystrokes, screenshots or personal data through Keywow;
- take screenshots or recordings of another person’s private conversation and publish them;
- use the app to monitor another person without their knowledge and consent;
- use another person’s device or keyboard to read what they type.
Our own handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: keystroke content stays on your device, is not sent to our servers and is not stored by us.
7. Cheating reports and how we investigate
If you see someone cheating, or if you think your own progress was affected by a cheater, write to contact@keywow.app.
Please include:
- your Google Play order identifier if the report is about a purchase;
- the display name of the account involved, if you know it;
- the approximate date and time, with your time zone;
- a short description of what you observed;
- a screenshot or a screen recording if you have one.
We review reports in the order we receive them and within a reasonable time. We look at the evidence you send and at the technical records we hold. We do not run a public anti-cheat score, we do not publish investigation details, and we do not confirm or deny action taken against another user. That silence protects the people who were reported by mistake.
Deliberately false reports made to harm another player are themselves a breach of this policy.
8. What happens when a rule is broken
We apply the lightest measure that fits the facts. We escalate when a problem repeats or when the harm is serious. The measures available to us are:
- a warning, with an explanation of the rule that was broken;
- removal of content, such as a name, a skin or a theme;
- a reset of part or all of your game progression;
- a temporary suspension of access to the game layer;
- a permanent ban;
- cancellation of purchases obtained through fraud, and recovery of the amounts involved;
- disclosure to law enforcement where the law requires it or where a serious offence is at stake.
We decide based on the evidence available to us, and we tell you which rule was broken. Section 9 explains how to challenge the decision.
9. Appeals
You can appeal any measure taken under section 8 by writing to contact@keywow.app with the subject line “Appeal”.
Include the identifier of the decision if we gave you one, the date of the measure, and what you think we got wrong. New evidence is welcome.
We review appeals on the facts and on whether the measure was proportionate. We answer within a reasonable time. An appeal does not pause the measure while it is being reviewed. If the appeal succeeds, we reverse the measure and restore what can be restored. If it fails, we explain why.
10. Keeping children safe
Keywow is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. If the law of your country sets a higher age for digital consent, that age applies and a parent or guardian must agree on your behalf.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child under 13 is using Keywow, contact us and we will help you remove the app and the associated data.
For purchases, Google Play offers family settings, purchase approval and purchase blocking. We recommend enabling them.
If you see content in Keywow that sexualises a minor, report it to us immediately at contact@keywow.app. We treat those reports as urgent.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes, when we add a feature, or when the law requires it. The current version is always published at https://keywow.app/en/safe-and-fair-play/.
When a change is significant, we announce it in the app or on this page before it takes effect. If you keep using Keywow after a change takes effect, you accept the updated policy. If you do not accept it, stop using the app.
